When Turpin bought the Elliott house, the
lot was reduced to its present size (38' feet on Harrison, 62' deep, with
a 9' Alley in the rear). A Colonial Revival house (618 Harrison) was built
around 1910 in the empty space to the left of the house, formerly called
"the Flower Garden." A Mrs. Ola Hendricks lived there until the mid 1960's.
The house at 618 Harrison was demolished in the mid 1990's.

view the addressee side of a postcard to May Garrett, who, with Lorna Garrett,
purchased the house in 1961 (see below). The text side of the postcard
has not been photographed in order to maintain the privacy of the author.
Five such cards were found behind a shelf in the kitchen.

From the cars parked on 7th Street, this photo appears to
have been taken in the 1950s.
