“…in spite of their [its] diminutive scale, bear[s] many stylistic similarities to the Federal Hill mansions. In 1814, Peter Elliott bought lot 175, at the north corner of Harrison and Seventh streets, from Agatha Dicks for $1,025, and in 1816, he was assessed $3,500 for the property. The small brick house that was responsible for the increase still stands at the very perimeter of the lot. Unlike the Holcombe House, with its side-hall plan, the entrance of this three-bay house is directly in the center of the façade. Like the best of its period, the Elliott House also shows a diminution of the window sash—from six-over-nine on the first floor to six-over-six above. A steep gable roof provides usable space on the top floor, which is well lit with a full-size gable window.”
“The porch and polygonal bay to the left are later additions.”
