A bullet mold found under the back porch. Similar examples can be found in
Neumann's Collector's Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution.
The chamber has not been opened yet, but it appears to be for a round ball of a smaller calibre (a squirrel rifle, perhaps). Click on the photo for an actual sized image.

Originally thought to be a snuff box. We now think that this is a silver makeup box. Note the lower photograph. The left side is the compartment, which contains a red substance. The right side contains glass, and a possible bit of mirroring (click on the photo for an enlarged image). Note double fleur-de-lis pattern on lid on upper photo, right side. Box measures 1.5" diameter x 3/8" thick. Found underneath the living room floor, laying on top of the hard-packed soil.

Described as shell-edged pearlware by Barbara J. Heath, Director of Archaeology at Jefferson's Poplar Forest in her book entitled, "Hidden Lives: The Archaeology of Slave Life at Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest."
Heath states that even-scalloped pearlware came into production in about 1810.
